It all began the summer before Monique turned 16, when her family moved from New England to Florida. Her mother quickly got them involved in the local Kingdom Hall, and it was through a church sleepover that Monique and Joseph first crossed paths. The spark was immediate—during a game of tackle football, Monique hiked the ball, and Joseph fell for the sporty girl who wasn’t afraid to get in the game.

From that moment, they spent their high school years exchanging mixtapes and handwritten letters, building a bond that would last a lifetime. It was the 90s, and this is how young love blossomed back then. By the time Monique turned 20 and Joseph 18, they were ready to take the next step, celebrating their love with a beautiful, dry church wedding—innocent and true to the times.

Their 20s were spent on the road, traveling the country with Joseph’s job, embracing adventure and new experiences. Eventually, they found their forever home in Tampa Bay in their early 30s. It was there they both discovered their passion for real estate, building a new life off the road. In 2008, they launched Capital Caldwell, the business that still thrives today.

Over the years, they’ve experienced incredible highs, lots of love and passion, moments of trial, and even faced some losses. But through it all, they’ve remained grateful—for each other, for the life they’ve built, and for the amazing group of friends that has supported them along the way.

Now, as they celebrate 30 years of marriage, they’re excited to share this milestone with those they love. Here’s to the journey, the memories, and the next chapter.
